Q. Why does the site have a domain name of colescoles.com and not something like tophi-news.com?

A. Greg Coles had the domain name sitting around collecting dust, so he decided to put it to use.  Hence the creation of this site.

Q. How do I find a classmate using this site?
A. You can enter the bulletin board and click on the "Memberlist" link at the top of the page.  This will bring up a list of people who have registered on the site.  If the person you're looking for is not listed, post a message on the Bulletin Board.  We have many people who visit the site but who have not registered.

Q. I was going to register as an alumni of Top-Hi, but those are pretty heavy "Registration Agreement Terms" that popped up for me to agree to.  Is all that really necessary?
A. It's just a standard set of terms that's used on a lot of bulletin boards.   Basically, it boils down to this: 1) We agree,
as soon as we can, to remove any objectionable material that may be posted; 2) You agree not to post any objectionable material; 3) You acknowledge that any information you enter in the registration process (such as email address) will be stored in a database; 4) We agree not to disclose any of that information to anyone else; 5) You acknowledge there are hackers out there on the internet who may try to get at that information; 6) You acknowledge that this site uses cookies (which do not contain any of the information you enter in the registration process.  That's it in a nutshell.

Q. Do I have to register to post messages on the bulletin board?
A. Yes. 

Q. Why?
A. We've had spammers post messages with links to porn sites.  It was necessary to require all posters on the Bulletin Board to be registered users to prevent this.  Besides, by registering, your classmates can contact you through this site. 

Q. If I register, can my email address be seen by everyone, including the general public?
A. No.  When someone clicks on the link to send you email, the form that comes up for them to compose their message does not show your email.  The administrators, however, can see it so they can help in making corrections in case you entered it incorrectly.  But we will not give out your email address to any person, business or organization.

Q. Is there a list of people who have registered on the Bulletin Board?
A. Yes.  Get into the Bulletin Board, then click on the "Memberlist" link at the top of the page.  This will bring up a list of people who have registered.

Q. If a person has registered using a screen name rather than their real name, is there a way to find out who they really are?
A. No. 

Q. I notice there are moderators listed on the bulletin board.  Does that mean my posts will be edited by the moderators to suit their whim?
A. No... well, maybe.  If a post is totally inappropriate (such as extreme profanity), it may be deleted by a moderator.  We hope that alumni would be professional and nice when posting messages.

Q. On other bulletin boards, I can set an option to "watch" a thread of messages.  That way I'm notified via email when someone posts a response to a message.  Can I do that with this bulletin board?
A. Yes.  When you get to the bulletin board, make sure you're logged on.  (You have to register to be able to log on.  You'll know you're logged on if you see your logon name at the top of the page beside the link that logs you out.)  After verifying that you are logged on, go to the message you want to watch.  When the message displays, scroll down to the last message in the thread and on the lower left, there is a link that says, "Watch this topic for replies."  Click on the link and you will be notified anytime anyone posts a response.

Q. I registered using a screen name and now want to change it to my real name so people know who I am.  How do I do that?
A. Go to the bulletin board and log in using your screen name, then click on the "Profile" link at the top of the page.  You will be taken to your profile where you can change it.  From then on, use your real name to log into the bulletin board.

Q. Where did the pictures come from that are in the gallery?
A. Toppenish high school alumni, users of this site, have uploaded them.

Q. If I see a picture of me in the gallery and I don't want it there, what do I do?
A. Send us a note from the "Contact Us" page and we'll remove it.

Q. How do I upload pictures?
A. Click on the Upload album to go to that album.  When the thumbnails display, on the left of the screen, you'll see a link that says "Add items".  Click on the link.  You will then be able identify the photos on your computer that you want to upload.  Be sure to put some identifying information in the title box for each photo (name, what class they graduated with).  We'll transfer the pictures to the appropriate album or create a new album if necessary.  If there are just one or two pics for your class, we may move the pics to the "Assorted Classes" album until we receive more pics of people in your class.
